The NOIRE Pop Up is a monthly reoccurring monthly series featuring curated selections of wine and a showcase of a featured artist work during the tasting. This featured Artwork is from my own collection, a hand printed woodblock print made by accordion press, an imprint of Kenturah Davis’ studio.
The message of this print is in recognition of the humanitarian crisis and liberation struggles around the world fighting against oppressive political regimes.

NOIRE was on hand to pour the selections of South African wines specifically curated to compliment 'Ulwandle', South African based artist, Bahati Simeons first solo exhibition in Malibu at Jac Forbes Contemporary. 'Ulwandle" is a Zulu word referring to the ocean, sea, or any big body of water---this exhibition highlights fluidity and movement.

NOIRE curated a selection of wines to compliment the opening exhibition of Mythical Negro featuring Ghanaian tapestry artist Joseph Awuah-Darko and Northern California-based painter Jupiter Lockett. Wines were intentionally selected to compliment the exhibit and in celebration of the upcoming Juneteenth weekend.

Charles Philippe Jean-Pierre is a Haitian American artist groomed on Chicago's south side. Jean-Pierre is an adjunct professor at American University in Fine Arts and holds a Masters of Arts from Howard University. He has created public art murals in South America, Panama, New York, Chicago, Washington, Istanbul, Montreal, Port-au-Prince, London and Paris. His work can also be found in the permanent collection of the U.S. Embassy in Cotonou, Benin West Africa.

Christian Michel was born in Cadouche, near Cap-Haïtien, Haiti in 1949. His vibrant work spans over four decades, with various awards and grants, showing nationally and internationally, with features in respected publications like The New Yorker & The New York Times. His work represents his love for his native country, Haitian culture and the captivating nature that exists in the physical and spiritual worlds.
