After observing the lack of diversity in winemaking on a trip to Napa in 2020, Jazmine recognized the opportunity to immerse herself in something her mother had enjoyed and sharing it with others.

The James Beard Foundation Legacy Network trains emerging BIPOC leaders across the culinary industry and connects them with future generations of excellence.

Essentially I was part of an intensive week long course of Italian wines and Umbria & Tuscany were my classroom.

Its a testament to continue to be my most authentic self and know that who I am and what I’m creating will speak for itself—even when I’m not in the room!

I was invited to join an amazing group of wine professionals to assist as a Sommelier during the Festival.

My faith reassures me that by leading a life of authenticity and integrity, I’ll be aligned with the community, opportunities and goals that I seek.

Meeting and connecting with the diverse array of winemakers & proprietors of wine brands whose wines I will be carrying within my wine lounge.

I’ve had the opportunity to meet, sit and connect with several individuals behind the wine brands

I made lunch and he brought over bottles of Sauvignon Blanc, and a 2016 & 2019 Pinot Noir (chefs kiss 🤌🏾) for us to enjoy!

The vision is to provide an approachable yet elevated wine tasting experience that features wines (and art) of vintners, wineries and wine brands of color—Black, Indigenous, Asian and Latinx wines.

Unknowingly for me, I was unaware of the significance of the turn of events that would occur in my life that I can now make connections to today.
