Headed To Napa 🙌🏾 🍇🍷

I was accepted into a program, The Roots Fund, that is committed to investing in the BIPOC community within the wine industry and I have been placed as a Harvest Cellar Intern at the Historic Family-Owned Napa Valley Winery, Heitz Cellar (pictured below) and my first day is next week!

My first visit to Napa Valley was in 2015 where I visited well known wineries in the region, enjoyed the many wine tastings and took cellar tours. That was also the same year I found out that my Mother was diagnosed with cancer. Unknowingly for me, I was unaware of the significance of the turn of events that would occur in my life that I can now make connections to today.

With the loss of my Mother in 2018, I questioned my path in life while also entering into a lifelong relationship with grief. In 2021, when I founded Noire Wine Lounge, I was clearer on my vision and inspired by my Mother who always encouraged me to be bold & fearless in the pursuit of my dreams. So this amazing opportunity as a 2022 Harvest Intern, for the next 6 months, will now be connected and woven into my story.

Having visited Napa on several occasions since my first visit in 2015, I’ll be returning with the purpose of gaining priceless knowledge about wine which I’ll be able to infuse into the future iteration of NOIRE for you to be able to experience for yourself.

I’d love for you to follow me along my journey in Napa. If you aren’t already, follow the NOIRE Instagram @noirewinelounge and my personal Instagram @jazmineladouceur where I’ll be documenting my time during harvest learning about winemaking and all things wine!
